Switch on Face ID attendance in Fitnexa, choose who can use it, set check-in rules for bookings and expired members, and tune the recognition confidence.

Face ID lets members and staff check in by looking at your kiosk — no card, no phone. You decide who can use it, what happens if someone hasn't booked or their membership has lapsed, and how strict the matching is.

Step by step

  1. Open Settings › Face ID Settings

Click More › Settings, open Face ID Settings and switch on Enable Face ID Attendance. Manage devices takes you to your kiosks.

  2. Set the check-in policy

Under Check-in Policy, choose Only when a slot is booked or Even if no slot is booked. Tick Block expired / frozen members to stop people with a lapsed membership getting in.

Under Who Can Use Face ID, tick Staff, Members or both.

  3. Tune security and recognition

Under Security & Recognition: Confidence Threshold (between 0.30 and 0.60) controls how closely a face must match — higher is stricter. Duplicate Prevention Window (in seconds) stops one person being checked in twice in quick succession. Tick Require Enrollment Approval if an admin should approve each new face before it can be used.

Review Attendance Actions, then click Save Changes.

  4. Get people enrolled

Members enrol at the kiosk with a PIN you send them, or your staff enrol them at the desk. See the related articles on sending a Face ID request and approving enrolments.

Common questions

What confidence threshold should I use?

Start in the middle of the range. If people who look alike get mixed up, raise it; if members are often not recognised, lower it slightly and check your kiosk's lighting.

Do members have to use Face ID?

No. They can still check in with a QR pass or at the desk, depending on your kiosk's Check-in mode.
