What to do when the check-in kiosk is offline or has no camera
Fix a Fitnexa kiosk that says No internet connection or Camera not available, how offline on-device matching works, and the front-desk fallback.
The kiosk needs a working camera, and usually an internet connection, to check members in. When either fails, keep the queue moving with the desk's manual check-in while you fix it.
Step by step
Switch to manual check-in at the desk
Open Check-In Desk and check members in by member code or phone number until the kiosk is back.
In the Staff menu, select Check-In Desk.
Fix the connection
The browser kiosk shows No internet connection — Check-in needs internet — use the tablet or front desk. Check the Wi-Fi on the device, restart the router if needed, and the kiosk recovers on its own.
The Fitnexa Kiosk app on Android can keep matching faces on the device for a limited time while offline (the top bar says On-device matching). If it's offline too long it shows This kiosk has been offline too long… and stops until it reconnects.
No internet connection – Check-in needs internet — use the tablet or front desk.Fix the camera
If you see Camera not available, make sure the camera is plugged in (for USB cameras), that no other app is using it, and that the browser or app has camera permission. Then tap Retry camera.
If something goes wrong
- Retry camera doesn't help
- Reload the kiosk page or restart the tablet. If you need to sign it back in, you'll need the device account details from your admin.
- Could not reach the server. Check the connection and try again.
- Shown when signing out or unlocking while offline. Restore the connection first.
