How to open a gym gate or door remotely from Fitnexa
Open your center's gate or door from the Check-In Desk or the Fitnexa app — for guests, deliveries or a fingerprint that won't read — and track it.
If your center has gates or doors connected to Fitnexa, you can open one from the desk without anyone scanning in. Each opening is logged with a reason.
Step by step
Find the Gates panel
Open Check-In Desk. The Gates panel lists each gate with a button, such as Open Main Entrance. A gate that isn't connected shows Main Entrance (offline) and can't be opened.
In the Fitnexa app, tap the gate icon in the header — it asks Open which gate?.
Pick a reason and click Open gate
Type a Reason (at least 3 characters), or tap a quick reason — Guest arrival, Member's fingerprint not reading, Delivery or Staff entry. Then click Open gate.
Watch it go through
The dialog shows progress: Sent to Fitnexa, then Terminal received it, then Gate opened.
Gate opened
If something goes wrong
- The button says (offline)
- The gate's terminal isn't connected. Check its power and network, or let your admin know. Open the gate manually in the meantime.
- It stops at Sent to Fitnexa
- The terminal hasn't picked up the command. Wait a few seconds; if nothing happens, the terminal may have just gone offline.
Common questions
Is opening a gate recorded?
Yes. Every remote opening is logged with who opened it and the reason you chose.
Does opening the gate check the person in?
No. It only opens the gate. Check members in separately at the desk.
